Multifaceted Movement

for Jamaica:

Hurricane Melissa Relief Fund

On Tuesday, October 28, Hurricane Melissa, a Category 5 storm, devastated the island of Jamaica.

This powerful hurricane—one of the worst in global history—took lives across the Caribbean, ravaged entire communities, and left thousands homeless and heartbroken.

In the wake of this tragedy, we have received an outpouring of prayers, compassion, and offers of help from colleagues, friends, and corporations who want to assist those most affected. Through our family’s 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Multifaceted Giving, we are mobilizing our Movement for Jamaica: Hurricane Melissa Relief Fund to collect resources, and we are calling upon our global community to come together to turn the outpouring of support and love we’ve received into action.

Now More Than Ever, Jamaica Needs Us

Jamaica needs our collective strength, love, and generosity.

If you’ve ever visited Jamaica, you know how special this island is—the warmth of its people, the beauty of its culture, and the spirit that always rises above adversity. And for those who haven’t yet been, we hope to welcome you one day, once our beloved island is rebuilt and thriving again.

Our Family’s Commitment

The majority of our family made the sacrificial decision to immigrate from Jamaica to the United States in the 1970s.

Since that time, we have worked hand in hand to support one another and to give back to the loved ones and communities we left behind.

As a family, it has always been our duty and honor to uplift and invest in our family and communities. Guided by our faith and the words of Matthew 25:35–40, we believe deeply in serving others:

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink… Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”

Matthew 25:35–40

Questions

If you have questions about making your gift, please contact Tamika Barnes at [email protected] or 617-233-3134.

THANK YOU for the incredible outpouring of support. 🙏🏾

Because of you, we’ve made great strides: thousands of dollars in donations received and 14 barrels packed to the brim with clothing, food, hygiene essentials, and medical supplies and shipped directly to Jamaica.

But the reality is... the work is NOT done yet.

Communities are still fighting to rebuild their homes.

Thousands remain without reliable electricity and clean water.

Families are navigating unsafe conditions, and waterborne illnesses are beginning to spread in several affected areas.

There is still a long way to go.

You love the food.

You love the music.

You love the culture.

Its one of your favorite vacation destinations

...and now, Jamaica needs YOUR help!

As the Jamaican saying goes: "Every mickle mek a muckle”, and we've seen that every little bit really does add up to something BIG. Every effort, every donation, every share makes a difference.

Let’s keep giving, keep helping, and keep rebuilding, together. 💛💚🖤

Gift Matching

Did you know that many employers offer gift matching programs that can double or even triple your donation?

Check with your company’s HR department to see if they will match your contribution to the Multifaceted Movement for Jamaica Hurricane Relief Fund—your generosity can go twice as far in helping rebuild lives across Jamaica.
